Charter Market 

Trading in the Market Place every Friday from 9am to 3pm, Cirencester’s Friday Charter Market has a strong and established set of traders, some of whom have been trading in Cirencester for over 30 year’s. We also have a number of guest slots for visiting traders and local community initiatives.

 
 

We are proud of our traders, the majority of whom are small (and often young) enterprises who literally operate their business from their market stall (with positive results). Cirencester Markets embraces new and young enterprise and are always happy to lend support to help promote your important market business ventures.  Don’t forget businesses such as Marks & Spencer’s and Superdry started on market stalls. Viva Oliva - Gourmet Olives & Mediterranean Deli

Viva Oliva is a testament to what’s best about Cirencester Market; unique, exceptional quality and great customer service.  Stallholder Phil is the purveyor of all sorts of Mediterranean foods from garlic infused olives to delicious marinated Cheese; delicate herbal infused oils & soaps dried, figs and much more.  You can find almost anything at Viva Oliva’s stall and if it isn’t on his stall, he will try his hardest to get it for you! Viva Oliva is one of the longest standing traders we have on the market, for 15 years he has been selling to the loyal customers of Cirencester. So if you want something different, looking to jazz up your homemade pizzas, hosting some friends or just love tapas, Italian antipasta or olives, he’s your man! 



Cordall Plants - Indoor & outdoor plants, flowers and shrubs

If you love your horticulture, come and se Tim from Cordall Plants. He has a beautiful and lovingly tendered array of plants; flowers and topiary trees and his stall is a sight to behold! With a wealth of planting and gardening information, Tim is always happy to help. He is full of knowledge so he can answer questions about the plants you have, what else will look great with them and how to keep them looking excellent. If you are after something special, he will source it for you and will provide delivery for large orders. Tim has been another long standing trader at Cirencester Charter Market, being here for over 10 years. so if you want something to swap weeds for a beautiful elegant flower patch then Tim's your man. 



A & R Fish Food – Fresh Wet Fish


Andrew and Donna have been supplying the local residents of Cirencester for a staggering 30 years! Every week they travel down to Cirencester from Fleetwood, Lancashire (that’s a whopping 191 miles) to sell the freshest, greatest quality British fish! We are very lucky to have them and are proud of their long standing commitment to the town, A & R Fish sells everything fishwise! So if you are in the mood for fish come and have a chat with Donna and Andrew and find out about this weeks special offers. Their fish freezes beautifully and with their wide selection you can cook something different each week. So if it’s Coley, Halibut or just some kippers you are after, they have it all! If you would like to place an order and collect it Friday’s they are more than happy to do that for you! 


Taynton Farm – English & European Cheese, Dairy, Eggs & Cakes


Mark is the purveyor of Cheese! He’s been trading at the Friday Charter Markets for over 15 years and still going strong. Mark is based at Taynton Farm, near Newent in Gloucestershire and sells a respectable range of really good cheese which is beautifully ripened for eating.  His English artisan cheeses ranges from local Ceri’s of North Wiltshire to all the way up to Northumberland Reiver cheese! Mark’s selection also always features the best of European cheeses. So if you are a cheese fan, Taynton Farm is definitely worth a visit into town and whilst you’re there you can stock up on the freshest Taynton Farm eggs and farm baked cakes. Sometimes, Mark may not have the cheese you are looking for but do ask and he will try his hardest to source it for you. 



 Auntie Caroline


This dynamic lady sells all sorts of pickles and chutneys from spicy pickled onions to terrific tomato chutney. Caroline’s jars of flavour harp back to childhood memories of grandma’s cooking and have induced tears of joy from happy tasters at the stall on a couple of occasions   Caroline prepares and makes everything herself, just ask what her record is for peeling a 10kg bag of pickling onions! So if you want something to tickle your taste buds, these condiments are of the best quality and are highly addictive.  Auntie Caroline is based in Cirencester and having launched her business in 2014, she is one of our budding young entrepreneurs to watch out for in the town. Auntie Caroline is happy to arrange tasting sessions and parties, so come and visit her at the Friday Charter Market and also Cirencester Farmer’s Market. She has been on the market for nearly two years and we love having her around! 


Ryzard Sheepskin – Quality wool and leather clothing and products


If you enjoy the finer things in life, you will just love Ryszard’s stall, full of sheepskin that is so soft to the touch; cow hide throw overs and beautiful leather jackets that fit perfectly. Along with the sheepskin he also sells gorgeous necklaces made out of amber, and dazzling earrings that shine in the sun. Ryzard is from Poland, and has been on the market since September 2014. He’s extremely helpful, will help you find what you’re looking for and definitely knows how to make you look fabulous darling! Siez Bazaar - North African and Middle Eastern décor


Do you know the difference from a carpet to a Kalim? Well Simon from Siez Bazaar does and has a beautiful and varied selection of afghan rugs featuring bright hues of blue, red, orange and more! Simon’s selection of rugs is startling and his range covers many different styles and sizes. All unique, all hand woven, all hand selected by Simon. Simon’s stall also features beautiful Moroccan treasures including silver and rare stone jewellery, handmade bowls and pots, small pieces of furniture, lamps and leather bags.
