The Town Council continues to recognise and respond to local needs through the availability of grant aid to individuals and local organisations. In 2017/18, the Town Council is increasing its grants budget by £400 to a total of £3,000; applications for grant aid will be considered where the aims and objectives demonstrate an economic, social or environmental benefit to the local community.
In recognising the important work of the voluntary sector at a local level, Cirencester Town Council will also be setting aside a total of £8,000 to be shared between Cotswold Counselling and Citizens Advice. In addition, the Town Council has set aside a projects fund of £2,500 for the Open Air Swimming Pool.
“The Town Council in continuing its commitment in providing grant support recognises the invaluable support, advice and activities that many local organisations and volunteers undertake towards making a real difference within the community” – Councillor Mark Harris, Lead Member for Community Services.
