South Cerney Sailing Club

South Cerney Sailing club is well established 120 acre lake in the Cotswold Water Park celebrating 55 years as a sailing club this year.

From March to October there are Pursuit races most Saturday afternoons. Sunday is a full racing day with two handicap races in the morning and Class racing in the afternoon. Current classes are Albacore, Asymetric, Flying Fifteen, Laser, Solo and Handicap with a wide range of boats. Racing continues on Sunday mornings throughout the winter. Winter only membership is available.

In summer the popular, fun and sociable Wednesday evening Hot Dog series runs. The bar is open to members on Sundays and Wednesdays after the racing, and for the various social events throughout the year.

The thriving Cadet squadron provides an excellent spring board for children and young people aged 8 to 16 yrs to take up sailing and develop their skills to a high level. Saturdays there is extensive training for the youngsters. Any youngsters who wish to try sailing may contact the cadet squadron and arrange a taster session prior to joining.

We run recognised courses in sailing and power boating; these are open to non members, and to members at a reduced rate.

Windsurfers are welcome at the club, where they can enjoy one of the largest lakes with the best wind in the Cotswold Water Park.

When the club is open at weekends visiting sailors with their own boat are welcome at a cost of £20 per day, £25 per at weekends.
