South Cerney Riding School

South Cerney Riding School is a friendly yard based in Cerney Wick, located in the Cotswold Water Park. This makes an ideal location for hacking on bridleways around the lakes, or on quiet country lanes. The riding school itself has an indoor school and an all weather outdoor school along with a lecture room.

Pupils of all ages and standards are catered for, from eighteen months to the more mature rider. Class lessons and private tuition are available at all levels, especially welcome are the nervous and beginners. The instructors are encouraging and helpful, making sure that enjoyment and safety are paramount.

The riding school is an approved Pony Club Centre, encouraging children without their own ponies to gain experience and awards and enjoy activities such as the three-day rally run in the summer holidays. It is also a registered Riding for the Disabled centre and has many disabled riders who enjoy outings on the quiet horses and ponies.

The school opens every day for lessons and hacks; even birthday parties can be arranged! They also run various activities and events throughout the year, especially during the holidays.

These range from clear round jumping to picnic rides, and own your own pony days. These enable pupils to put into practice what they have learnt in their lessons. Stable management and horse care courses are also run, and children over eight are encouraged to join the stable management club at the weekends, and in the holidays, to increase their confidence around the ponies and practice their handling skills.
