Come along and enjoy a Sunday afternoon of free live music in Cirencester’s Abbey Grounds this summer. Perfect for a relaxing afternoon, and a picnic in the park!
Gloucester Brass was formed in 1992. It has grown steadily, now numbering 33 players, ranging from teens to 80+ years of age. The guiding principle has always been to play music that is as enjoyable for audiences to listen to as it is for the band to play. The Band do not take part in brass band contests, but focus entirely on preparing for and giving public performances, which take place in a variety of venues, including churches, shopping centres, garden parties, flower shows, fetes and public parks.
Gloucester Brass have a wide repertoire, including music from musicals, film and TV themes, marches and arrangements of classical music. The Musical Director, since 2011, is Mark Knight. (www.gloucesterbrass.co.uk or e mail email@example.com)
