Cirencester Youth Market
Exciting Opportunities for Young Local Entrepreneurs! Cirencester Town Council and the E4 Group are delighted to announce the return of the Cirencester Youth Market on Wednesday 22 March 2017 at the Market Place from 10.30am to 2.30pm.
Working in partnership with Cirencester College; the Royal Agricultural University and both of the town’s secondary schools, the group has formed as E4 and are looking to promote and support youth enterprise in the town.
Last year’s Youth Market was a great success and gained national media attention. As a result of this, E4 are excited to host another Youth Market with the goal of making this an annual event and possibly biannually with a special market at Christmas.
The aim of the market is to inspire young people to set up their own business, giving local enterprise students and young entrepreneurs the opportunity to sell their products that they themselves have made and designed. Some of the businesses will be asking customers for feedback on their products to aid development, so come along and see what great innovations our town’s youth are working on!
This year the market will showcase some of the Royal Agricultural University’s young enterprises including The Trough Catering, deliciously cooked local produce served out of a converted horsetrailer, Coppernose Jerky and Claytons Cold Brewed Coffee.
The market will also feature enterprise students from Cirencester College who are working on some fantastic innovations including a safe driving app for new drivers and up-cycled homewares made from old wooden pallets.
Both Deer Park and Kingshill Secondary Schools will be featuring some innovative creations and delicious food and it is anticipated the schools will be providing entertainment including Deer Park’s Steel Band and Kingshill’s Choir and Ukele Players.
The group are keen to reach out to all young entrepreneurs and organisations supporting youth in the town to come along and get involved, so if you would like to host a stall or perform please contact firstname.lastname@example.org at the Town Council.
The event is supported by St James Place and will feature a special award for the best dressed stall. The group are proud to see the return of Gabby Martin-Hoff of Sew Little, our winner from last year’s Youth Market, who won the judges over with her beautifully handmade baby and toddler clothes. Gabby’s success at last year’s market meant she qualified to trade at the National Youth Market in Manchester last September where her stall went down a storm and led to some great exposure for her business. This year the group are hoping to provide this opportunity for another deserving entrepreneur.
So please come and support our young entrepreneurs! There will be plenty of great shopping opportunities and delicious food. And remember if you are under 25 and have your own business come and join Cirencester’s Youth Market! If you want to join the conversation on social media follow #cirenyouthmarket.
