Cirencester Art Society

The Mission: The objective of the Society is to provide a relaxed and informal forum to foster and share a common interest in the history, theory and practical aspects of art.

The members: Currently the Society has over 60 members, who together share a wide range of experience and expertise in many different media, ranging from the near-professional to beginners.

The programme: The Society hosts monthly meetings on the 4th Tuesday of the month between September and May. These meetings include lectures and demonstration evenings by established professional artists. The programme is augmented by occasional workshops for members to learn, under supervision, from working artists. In addition the Society operates one studio morning each week where members can practice their skills in an informal environment. Throughout the season art-based visits and outings are arranged on an ad-hoc basis.

Exhibitions: For those members interested in exhibiting and perhaps selling their work, there are opportunities to exhibit in three different local venues throughout the year. Additionally major exhibitions are mounted at the discretion of the committee.

Location: The monthly meetings are held at The Parish Rooms, Gosditch Street. Cirencester. Commencing at. 7.00 p.m.  Visitors and guests always welcome.
