Cirencester Dance Club

Cirencester Dance Club is a non-profit organisation, with a charitable status.  The Clubs aim is to encourage an interest in and enjoyment of dance and performance for anyone within the community, regardless of age or ability.

The Clubs strong foundations are built on over 50 years of training pupils in the graceful Russian style of Classical Ballet.  Currently the club has expanded to offer boys and girls, aged 2 to adult, the chance to enjoy classes in Tap, Modern, Contemporary/Lyrical, Performance Classes, Adult Ballet, Adult Ballet Jazz and Theatre Skills.  Classes can be for fun and fitness as well as the opportunity to take Graded Exams in the NATD syllabus.

The clubs ethos is about inclusivity and the enjoyment of dance and performance.   We have a number of qualified specialist teachers, who help our members gain self-respect, confidence and discipline and are encouraged to develop their musicality and stage awareness.

There is an emphasis on fun and performance; all students have the opportunity to perform in the shows that are performed at The Bingham Hall every year.  We either hold a ‘Dance Crazy’ in our exam year, or a full ballet show.  Previous shows have included Nutcracker, La Sylphide, Alice’s Wonderland and Tales of Narnia.   We also run a performance group who regularly perform at local community events such as Cirencester Advent Market.

The Club is managed by a voluntary Committee, elected by its parents and pupils. In 2007, in recognition of its contribution to the community, the Club was granted charitable status. All classes, exams and performances are held at The Bingham Hall, Kings Street, Cirencester GL7 1JT

No dancing experience is necessary for the Adult classes. The Club is regulated by the National Association of Teachers of Dancing.
