We would like to apologise for the delay in refurbishing the toilets and providing a new facility for users of the Abbey Grounds. There are a number of improvements planned and we are exploring options for the provision of refreshments, new toilets and fulfilling the Abbey 900 legacy.
During this time, temporary toilets are being provided and whilst they are regularly checked, if they fall below an acceptable standard, please let us know. The Council has increased its checks/cleaning of the temporary facilities and will be providing further units over the summer, including one by the children’s play area. Sadly, some users do not respect the facilities and they have also been subjected to vandalism.
The Abbey Grounds is an important place for many people and we value your support as we seek to ensure that appropriate permissions are in place for delivering improvements that you’ll be able to enjoy.
We will provide further information on the work programme and timescales in due course.
Please also note that Cotswold District Council provides the three public toilets in Cirencester, namely at London Road, the Forum Car Park and the Brewery Car Park. Further information on the facilities and contacts is available at: https://www.cotswold.gov.uk/residents/environment/parking-and-public-toilets/public-toilets/
