Notice of Conclusion of Audit
In accordance with the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015, Cirencester Town Council has published the notice of conclusion of audit along with the Annual Governance and Accounting statements and the External Audit Report and Certificate for 2022-23. We are pleased to report that no issues of concern were raised by the External Auditor relating to the financial management and accounts of the Council. However, the External Auditor did note the concern raised by our Internal Auditor about the low level of reserves held by the Council and has asked us to ensure that action is taken in a timely manner to address this area of weakness. The Finance and Audit Committee has already met informally to discuss this and will be making a recommendation to Council in November, as part of the budget estimates and council tax for 2024-25.
