Green Spaces Strategic Review
The Town Council is embarking on a strategic review of its green spaces and has established a core project team led by the CEO, a Corporate Project Officer, Councillor Andrea Pellegram and Councillor Christine Gore. This initiative forms an important part of the visioning for the future of Cirencester Town Council's green spaces.
Building on the work of the 2009 OFC Community Plan, we will review the 2011 – 2021 Green Spaces Strategy; considering analysis of future threats, opportunities, and priorities on a long-term basis, with the ultimate goal of creating an overarching framework for developing and managing green spaces, including a viability assessment and delivery plan for future projects. As such, this project cuts across climate and environment, land and property and finance and audit, with an advisory group being set up to oversee progress which includes the respective lead members for those areas.
Whilst this is a major and comprehensive review, which is likely to take up to two years to complete, we are keen to get started as soon as possible and want to know your initial views about the green and open spaces in Cirencester.
We will be engaging with the public later this month via our commonplace platform and will publish information on how you’ll be able to get involved via Commonplace.
