Cirencester Open Air Swimming Pool awarded funding from the council’s Community Projects Fund
At the Community Services Committee meeting held on the 16th June, Cirencester Open Air Swimming Pool was awarded funding from the council’s Community Projects Fund and the council’s children & young people budget to deliver it’s 2026 season of 17 Friday night youth sessions.
Every Friday, young people in year groups 7 – 11 can attend the pool for an admission fee of £1 instead of the standard child entry of £3.80. The sessions provide the opportunity to enjoy a safe, supervised space to swim, meet friends, and look after their wellbeing. Trained lifeguards will also be on hand to protect swimmers’ safety and to give advice and guidance in a trusted setting providing a genuinely life-saving resource. Parents are also welcome to attend.
The Committee felt that as well as providing important water safety advice, the sessions would complement the existing youth provision in the town which includes the youth sessions below:
Mondays – Family Action Cirencester Youth Group (ages 11-18), 4pm – 6pm, Cirencester Impact Centre, Lewis Lane
