Exhibition: Flora, Fauna and Fantasy

  • Corinium Museum Park Street Cirencester (map)

Alison Adams is a local mixed media and collage artist who is inspired by the rich and diverse beauty of the natural world around her in the Cotswolds. Her creative process is often intuitive and spontaneous, beginning with processes that allow the subject to emerge as she works. This method, known as aleatory art — from the Latin alea, meaning “dice” — embraces chance and discovery. The result is a wonderfully diverse portfolio that includes animals, botanicals, landscapes, still lifes, and abstract artworks. Alison frequently celebrates nature’s organic forms, sometimes reimagining them into whimsical and fantastical creations that blend the real with the imagined.

A lifelong lover of art, Alison enjoyed a professional career and overcame significant health challenges before fully dedicating herself to her artistic practice in retirement. She has been recognised as Most Expressive Mixed Media Artist and Best Mixed Media and Collage Artist by the Greater London Enterprise Council in 2025.

This exhibition features a vibrant collection of her botanical and animal pieces — along with a few delightful flights of fancy! Discover this interactive multimedia exhibition in your own way.
