Climate and Environment Competition

We are launching a community competition across each of the eight wards in Cirencester. Ward Councillors will get to work together in their ward, to promote the competition and engage with the community, encouraging individuals, friends and families, community groups and businesses to participate.

We will be publishing more details in due course but initial ideas for the competition include community initiatives which will reduce carbon footprints, improve the environment, increase recycling or create a community allotment.

An Independent Panel of Judges will assess each entry; with criteria being based on the number of people in the ward being involved and the extent to which the community initiative has had an impact on reducing the carbon footprint, improving the environment or increasing recycling etc.

The 1st Prize will be £1,500, 2nd Prize of £1,000 and 3rd Prize of £500. Each prize going towards a ward-based community project or public realm improvement.

If you are interested in participating please contact us at info@cirencester.gov.uk
