Flood Wardens Needed
As part of a Cotswold District Council and Gloucestershire Rural Community Council (GRCC) initiative we are seeking to recruit flood wardens across each of the eight wards of Cirencester.
Flood Wardens play a key role, working with their local town or parish council to help their community prepare for, respond to and recover from flooding. Flood Wardens are volunteers who help ensure that flood warnings and messages about being prepared, reach the local community. They are an important conduit between the community and the Town Council, providing invaluable information about the situation on the ground, so that the emergency response can be planned appropriately.
The GRCC www.grcc.org.uk provides dedicated support to Flood Wardens as well as working closely with key agencies including local authorities, the Environment Agency and water companies.
