Town Council Vacancy – We’d Love You to Join the Team @ CTC
The Town Council has a vacancy to co-opt a Councillor to serve in the Abbey Ward. Do you want to make a difference for the better?
If you are interested then please send a letter or e-mail to our CEO, Andrew Tubb, at andrew@cirencester.gov.uk or by hand via our Local Information Centre at Bingham House outlining your reasons for wishing to be a Town Councillor and the difference you would like to make.
In your e-mail/letter please advise if you are a member of a political party and if co-opted whether or not you would be affiliated to that party or serve as an independent Town Councillor.
The closing date for expressions of interest is Friday 14th June at 4pm. You will then be invited to give a brief 5 minute talk to the Council on Tuesday 25th June at 6.30pm at which meeting a vote on who to co-opt will be taken.
In total there are around 40 meetings a year, depending on which Committees you choose to serve on, in addition to representing your Ward and the local community. These meetings are currently held on a Tuesday at different times during the day and early evening.
Training and development is provided and certain expenses can be claimed but unfortunately due to current legislation we are unable to pay an allowance.
This invitation is open to anyone over the age of 18 who is a British or Commonwealth citizen, is registered to vote in Cirencester or has lived, worked, or owned a property here for at least 12 months.
If you would like any further info please do not hesitate to contact us.
