Chesterton Ward Town Councillor Vacancy
In light of no election being called by ten electors, a casual vacancy has arisen for the Chesterton Ward. The Council can therefore adopt its own procedure for co-option. In consultation with the Chair and Vice Chair of Council and under delegated authority to the CEO, the process will be the same as that previously approved by Council for co-option.
Anyone interested in serving as a Town Councillor for the Ward of Chesterton can express an interest by way of a letter/e-mail outlining the reasons for standing as a Town Councillor and the difference you would like to make. You should also identify if you are a member of a political party and if co-opted whether or not you would be affiliated to that party or serve as an independent Town Councillor.
Expressions of interest are to be received by the CEO, Andrew Tubb, no later than Friday 24th January at 4pm via andrew@cirencester.gov.uk or by post/hand delivered to Bingham House, Dyer Street, Cirencester GL7 2PP.
Each candidate expressing an interest is invited to give a brief 5-minute talk to the Council, about serving the Ward of Chesterton. This meeting will be held on Tuesday January 28th at 6.30pm, Bingham House, at which a vote filling the vacancy by co-option will also be taken.
