A Renaissance Musical Evening in Aid of CHYP

  • Corinium Museum Park Street Cirencester, England, GL7 2BX United Kingdom (map)

The Waites of Gloucester will be playing music from the Medieval and Renaissance period on a range of fascinating instruments. Enjoy an evening of music, a glass of wine, delicious canapes and a private viewing of the Museum.

The Waites of Gloucester are modelled on the band of musicians run by the City of Gloucester in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The Waites also perform locally in the Cotswolds under the name "Her Majesties Pleasure".

Enthusiasts for the music of the renaissance, apart from the pleasure of playing together, they enjoy introducing people to a range of instruments they may never otherwise have seen, and which sound distinctly different to modern ears. Between them they have have well over 100 instruments of the period.

Enjoy the music followed by a glass of wine, delicious canapés and chance to wander around the museum. Doors open at 7.15pm. All profits go to Chyp, helping local young homeless people.

Tickets cost £15, available from The Chyp Charity Shop at 20 The Waterloo, Cirencester, or ring 01285 651227 for more details.
