Cirencester’s New Brewery Arts will open Raw Talent 2026 with a preview on 26 June 2026, 6–8pm, showcasing work created by students who have taken part in courses and workshops since July 2024 — more than 42,000 hours of learning, making and creative exploration.
The exhibition celebrates making at every level, from first‑time learners to those rediscovering long‑lost skills, reflecting a thriving community of people learning, making and growing together in the heart of the Cotswolds. Raw Talent 2026 presents a remarkable collection of work, each piece telling a story of curiosity, persistence, and creative growth.
Raw Talent — and all exhibitions at New Brewery Arts — free to visit.
Two awards will be presented as part of the exhibition. The People’s Choice Award is decided by visitors; voting cards will be available in the gallery, where guests can choose their favourite artwork and post their vote in the ballot box.
The Claire Sanders Award is selected by the New Brewery Arts team, in memory of a much‑loved tutor who passed away in 2025. This award celebrates creativity, commitment and the spirit of joy and learning.
One student described New Brewery Arts as: “New Brewery Arts is my Art College — a gateway to studying a range of different crafts and to a world of creativity and creative people where I can fulfil my dreams.”
This sense of belonging and creative confidence is reflected in the organisation’s latest participation data:
· 96% of students rate teaching as good or above
· 97% would recommend New Brewery Arts to friends or family
· 74% feel more enthusiastic about craft after visiting
· 20,952 total participation hours delivered
· 78% of our course bookings are by returning students
CEOBeth Alden says these figures demonstrate why New Brewery Arts must be protected: “New Brewery Arts is a place where people come to learn, make and grow. Every piece made in our studios tells a story of discovery, connection or renewed confidence. At a time when craft organisations across the UK are closing, our community continues to stand with us. We are deeply grateful to our patrons, supporters and funders whose backing allows us to keep this much-loved organisation alive.”
Beth adds that despite securing a £90,000 three‑year grant from the Rausing Trust, alongside support from Cotswold District Council, the organisation is not yet safe: “Rising costs and diminishing arts funding continue to threaten the sector. Creativity improves wellbeing, strengthens communities and protects skills that are disappearing. Access to craft cannot be optional — it must be protected and expanded.”
