Cirencester Neighbourhood Plan Update

Further to last months update, we have completed a review of the Vision, Aims and Objectives and Policies, which will be considered and endorsed at the meeting of the Council on Tuesday 10th September 2024.

The final Reg 16 document with the substantive changes having been made will be considered along with the Basic Conditions Statement and Consultation Statement by the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group (on 15th October) and Planning Committee (on 22nd October), prior to the Council (on 12th November) formally approving the document for submission to Cotswold District Council.

Thank you to everyone who responded to the Regulation 14 consultation and visited the exhibition. We are now collating, and reading through, every comment from statutory consultees and members of the public.

Over the next 6 weeks we will review the Regulation 14 document and prepare the Regulation 16 Neighbourhood Plan.

Our current timeframe is to provide a draft copy of the Reg 16 plan to the Town Council's Planning Committee to comment on at their meeting scheduled for Tuesday 27th August, it will then be signed off by the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group on Tuesday 3rd September and recommended to the Town Council for formal consideration on Tuesday 10th September 2024.

As soon as the Regulation 16 Neighbourhood Plan is approved by the Town Council, it will be submitted to Cotswold District Council for statutory public consultation.

It is vital that we take time to consider every single comment received under the Regulation 14 consultation and to consider the impact on each of the proposed planning policies; the Neighbourhood Plan has to be fit for purpose and meet the future needs of the community; as we commence this process we may decide to defer the submission of the Regulation 16 Neighbourhood Plan to enable us more time to review the comments and feedback.

In addition to the statutory public consultation, which will be undertaken by Cotswold District Council, the aforementioned, Planning Committee and Town Council meetings are open to the public, providing you with an opportunity to comment on the draft versions of the Reg 16 plan.
