Cirencester’s Big Lunch 2025 – Get Involved; A Celebration of Community, Connection & Inclusion
Cirencester Town Council is proud to announce the return of The Big Lunch! The free, family-friendly community event will take place on Sunday 22nd June in the Abbey Grounds between 12 noon to 6pm.
Now in its third year, The Big Lunch has quickly become one of Cirencester’s most anticipated community events, drawing people from across the town to come together, share food, and enjoy a vibrant day of fun, entertainment, and togetherness.
This year’s theme, “Get Involved,” invites local groups, charities, and community organisations to take part, helping to showcase the breadth of opportunities, services, and support available in Cirencester. Whether you’re a local resident, a first-time visitor, or a long-standing community champion, The Big Lunch is your invitation to connect, discover and get involved.
What to Expect at The Big Lunch 2025:
• Free, inclusive activities for all ages including climbing wall, mini farm, safe archery, bell ringing, creative workshops, circus skills, and our ever-popular, silent disco
• A live music line-up featuring local artists and bands performing in the historic Abbey Grounds bandstand
• A small artisan market showcasing local crafts and produce
• A range of food and drink stalls, plus space to bring your own picnic and share food with neighbours and friends
• Community stalls featuring local charities and organisations providing activities, signposting, support, and volunteering opportunities.
More information can be found on a dedicated page on the Town Council’s website - www.cirencester.gov.uk/biglunch and social media platforms. The event is part of the nationwide Big Lunch initiative, which sees events held across the UK to celebrate local communities, raise awareness of sustainability, and strengthen neighbourly bonds.
Cirencester Mayor, Sarah Orr, said. “The Big Lunch is about everyone in Cirencester coming together, celebrating our shared spaces, and getting involved in what makes our community strong.”
