Green Spaces Strategy – 5-Year Action Plan
In September 2025, the Town Council launched its Green Spaces Strategy, now we’ve published our 5-Year Action Plan for commencing the delivery of this ambitious vision.
By 2041, Cirencester’s Green Spaces will be vibrant, wildlife-rich environments that are well connected, accessible, and inclusive to all. They will actively support health, wellbeing, and quality of life by providing safe, inspiring outdoor settings where everyone can benefit.
These spaces will offer a beautiful haven for the community, maintained to the highest standards and will be resilient to the challenges of climate change. Through sustainable management, they will be financially secure, ensuring long-term enjoyment and benefit for current and future generations of visitors and residents.
When the 5-Year Action Plan was recently considered by the Council, reference was made to the funding allocation and project priorities, consideration of ward master planning and recognising that it is a living document.
The Obelisk Community Rooms was given greater priority by Council and will be our next major project after we’ve completed refurbishment of the Norman Arch and Cottage.
