Use of Plastic

Reducing use of single use plastic and wider use of plastic was a recent message from the Junior Town Council and forms an important part of our Climate and Environment Action Plan.

Officers are going to gauge how much plastic we use within the organisation and benchmark usage with Government guidelines. We know we must lead by example and reduce how much plastic we are using.

Single use plastic is not permitted at events and markets run by the Town Council and a target of May for gauging use at the main Town Council office and depot in the Abbey Grounds has been set, with use in our open spaces having a target of July.
