With Easter just around the corner, excitement is building as we officially launch our Children’s Easter Egg Colouring Competition—a fun, creative event designed to celebrate imagination, art, and the joy of springtime. 

We are back on Saturdays throughout the year from March 14th open between 10am and 4pm.

At Cirencester Town Council, we’re always looking for practical, community‑friendly ways to support sustainable living.

The Government wants to deliver a two-tier model of local government across England, i.e. principal unitary and town and parish. Over-arching this with combined ‘executive-mayor’ led authorities covering regional areas.

Cirencester Town Council receives no external funding from the Government, Cotswold District Council or Gloucestershire County Council, it is also restricted from applying for certain grants due to its status as an organisation.

Phoenix is a Cirencester Town Council event brought to you in recent years and in 2026 by the Cirencester Community Development Trust, and a team of dedicated volunteers

Cirencester Town Council is a tenant of Bingham House and our lease with the Bingham Library Trust expires on 31st December 2026. We need to explore if the building is fit for purpose, for our needs in the long term, particularly considering local government reorganisation.

In September 2025, the Town Council launched its Green Spaces Strategy, now we’ve published our 5-Year Action Plan for commencing the delivery of this ambitious vision.

Councillors can use notices of motion to raise important matters at Council, they don’t shape the policy or strategic direction of the Council as this is something that our Leadership Group does, but they do spark debate and discussion on important matters.

In February, we’ll be planting approximately 1,500 hedgerow whips, kindly provided through funding from The Tree Council.

Cirencester Town Council is delighted to announce the winner of this year’s Christmas window competition as the Vintage Society in Castle Street. 

It is important in these coming months that we are all ready for an emergency, whether it is flood related or the winter weather.

Cirencester Town Council is consulting the public on its budget for 2026-27.

We are thrilled to announce that for the second year running our Local Information Centre has won a Silver award for Visitor Information Service of the Year in Bristol, Bath. Somerset, Wiltshire & Gloucestershire Tourism Awards.

Cotswold District Council is urging residents, businesses, community groups, and everyone who cares about the future to get involved and help influence the direction of the district as it launches a major Local Plan consultation.

Exciting progress is underway at Kingshill, where a newly approved under-7s play area is set to provide a dedicated space for younger children to explore, play, and develop in 2026.
