Cirencester Town Council is pleased to share the success of a recent community planting initiative held at St Michael’s Park.

Each year our fees and charges are reviewed respectively by our Community Services Committee and the Land and Property Committee, these have recently been updated for 2026-27 and are attached to view.

We believe in openness and transparency about public money and each year we publish a scheme of allowances and remuneration table which shows the allowances Councillors receive and how much the people we employ are paid.

Dame Rachel de Souza, Children’s Commissioner has asked for support in promoting a survey and sharing it with children, parents, and carers across Cirencester before the deadline of Friday 23rd October.

Cirencester Town Council is pleased to announce that Cllr Andy Jopp (Chesterton Ward) has been elected as the new mayor of Cirencester for 2026-2027.  As Mayor, Cllr Jopp has chosen to support Lighthouse Dementia Support during his civic year.

Ground works will soon begin at the Kingshill Community Garden, a collaborative project with the Churn Community Hub that will create a valuable new community growing space.

CTC has donated £350 to each of Cirencester’s six primary schools to support climate and environment-related projects, helping children take positive action locally.

Improvements have been made to the mini golf area, which is now open for the public to enjoy. Balls and clubs can be collected from the Kiosk.

A new rain garden has been installed at St Michael’s Park, improving biodiversity while helping manage surface water in a more sustainable way.

This May, selected green spaces will be left uncut to support pollinators, boost biodiversity and create valuable habitats for wildlife as part of No Mow May. A small change that can make a big difference for nature.

At its meeting on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, Gloucestershire County Council Cabinet approved recommendations for the Safer Roads and Community 20s project, setting out budget spend, how locations will be prioritised, how communities will be engaged, and how decisions will be made, as well as confirming the approach to its delivery; this is supported by Cirencester Town Council.

Cirencester Markets and Cotswold Markets Ltd will launch this year’s Love Your Local Market campaign in style with the popular two‑day Food and Lifestyle Festival on Saturday the 16th May and Sunday 17th May, a foodie extravaganza on the Market Place and surrounding area.

Cirencester Town Council has announced a new partnership with HelloBench and the mental health charity Chasing the Stigma to install a dedicated support bench in St Michael’s Park.

We were delighted to welcome politics students from Cirencester College to the Town Council in March.

The Government’s consultation on Local Government Reorganisation in Gloucestershire has now closed and a decision on the outcome of future arrangements is expected in July.
